Description

The Bond Bug with the lifting roof is like no other - hardly anyone knows it, yet it is always the centre of attention. The orange colour was called "Tangerine" and the wedge shape is more typical of the 70s than almost any other design. You quickly get used to driving with the steering wheel on the right-hand side, and also to the fact that only one wheel steers at the front. With 31 hp and a weight of just 390 kg, the car is sufficiently motorised for today's road traffic. Driving the little Bond simply puts a smile on your face and on the faces of all those on the sidelines!

Even though the orange tricycle is called "Bond", it never appeared in a James Bond film, even though it would have fitted perfectly in a 007 film in the seventies, for example in "Diamonds are forever"? The film premiered in the same year that our Bond Bug was built, 1971

Perfect for

A trip to the lake, a classic car meeting or simply a drive in the countryside!

Special Features

The pure cult of the seventies - the design icon in orange! The Tangerine Dream on three wheels

Right hand drive!

History

The Bond Bug is a two-seater three-wheeled vehicle from Great Britain. The vehicle was designed by Tom Karen, who was employed by Ogle Design. The vehicle is characterised by its angular shape. To get in and out, the upper part of the plastic body is folded up forwards. It was delivered exclusively in an orange colour, with the exception of a small series of Bond Bugs, which were launched in a bright yellow.

Reliant manufactured the vehicle under the name Bond Bug after buying up Bond Cars Ltd, first in Preston, then in Tamworth. The drive unit came from the Reliant Regal and had a displacement of 700 cc. In the final years of production, the 750 cc engine from the Reliant Robin was also offered.

Three variants were offered. In addition to the basic model, there was an E variant, which was equipped with a heater, among other things. The ES model was delivered with even better equipment and a more powerful engine.
