History

The Citroën SM is a luxury sports coupé in the upper class that was built from 1970 to 1975 and was already considered a technical sensation when it premiered at the Geneva Motor Show in 1970. Designed by Robert Opron, the SM is now one of the great design icons in automotive history.

It is powered by a Maserati V6 engine, a result of Citroën's involvement in Maserati at the time. Depending on the version, the engine delivers between 154 and 180 hp and combines superior performance with the character of a true Gran Turismo.

The SM is famous for its extraordinary technology: the hydropneumatic suspension ensures unparalleled driving comfort, while the DIRAVI power steering with automatic return, internal disc brakes and a sophisticated hydraulic cornering light system with six headlights underline the vehicle's visionary claim.
